Thanksgiving Bash Results

First off I want to say thank you to Sherry who is taking care of our percentage losses for us. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't figure this chit out.

I want to send out a HUGE congrats to everyone in ThinChicks. You're still trying to lose weight & in my book that speaks volumes. It doesn't matter if  your 10 pounds from your goal or 100 ... the important this is to never give up on yourselves.

Now ... let me share the winners. If your not at the top don't let this discourage you. Work a little harder this week so you can move up in the ranks.

New Diet to try ...

I got the following diet plan from Marina's journal. She found it in a diet magazine ... it's based on a 1400 calories a day plan. The food is filling so each meal really holds you until it's time for your next meal. I'll have to wait until the first to go shopping for these foods cause most of it I don't have in my house. As always ... remember to drink lots of water. 8 cups it a great start but if your working out like you should be I would aim for 100 oz a day.

Also ... keep a food log so you can periodically see if your starting to add to much food or worse ... not taking in enough. There are several free sites. My favorites are www.sparkpeople.com , www.fitday.com , and www.myfooddiary.com.

I did manage to get on the treadmill this afternoon for about 20 minutjes. I told myself I wasn't gonna get off of the thing until DH & the kids came home. They should have been gone 30-40 min but in they walk 15 minutes into my workout with dinner in hand. I'm actually glad they walked in cause I was so tired & my legs never seemed to adjust to the speed. Maybe I'm trying to push myself to far to fast? I feel like I'm not getting a good workout unless I'm going 4-5 mph ... it's so hard to maintain that speed ... half the time I end up jogging it cause it hurts my knees. Depending on how I feel later on tonight I may get back on the thing & try to at least make it 30 minutes.

Have a good weekend ...

Little sad ...

This morning was weigh in day for D-I-E-T &  ThinChicks ... I lost a poud. I know I should be complelty happy with that but the fact is ... I really bumped my workouts up this week. I kept my calories as low as I felt safely going. Here's how my week looked cardio wise. Some days are blank ... it's just because I forgot to log them in on that day so I logged them in on the next day.

I've complete a very high impact step routine but that's not all I'll be doing today. I'll be getting in a 10 min abdominal session ... I have a challenge move for my hamstrings for ThinChicks ... & since hubby is off for the day I may get on the treadmill for a while or break out my 4 mile walk/jog video. It comes out to about a 12-13 min mile. It's by Leslie Sansone.

I know some of you are BIG weigh losers each week ... how do you lose more than one pound each week? I know Christina doesn't take in as many calories as I do but I know from past experience that going to low to lose weight doesn't make it a permanent weight loss. I was once 234 pounds ... I refused to take in more than 1000 calories a day & I worked out almost non stop everyday. I lost 50 pounds in about 3 months ... then another 30 in about 3 months. The problem was once I made it to 150 I didn't want to lose anything more cause I was comfortable at that weight. I kept exercising about 3 hours a day took in 1200-1500 calories a day & inside of a month I shot back up to 170 ... then 180 in another month. I dropped my calories back down to 1000 calories a day & worked out no less than 3 hours a day. I maintained this weight for 2 years but I was ALWAYS starving!!! A week after I stopped teaching aerobics ... I gained 5 pounds ... in 3 months time I had gone from 150 to 180 ... now here I am at 196. It's all I can do to keep gaining anything more.

I NEED HELP ... I feel like I'm swimming in buckets of fat with no way of pulling myself out. Part of me is hoping I have a thyroid problem so I can get on something to help me take this off but the other part of me doesn't want to have this problem. I just want the weight off of me & I don't want to have to starve myself to do it.

Last minute eat before WI

Uppin' my protein in hopes of a smaller number on the scale tomorrow. I don't know why but I can weigh myself everyday of the week & not feel anything about that number but on weigh in day I hate to weigh in. Why is that? Is it because I'm afraid I will have failed in some way?

By my calculations in my book going exactly by the labels I have 1234 calories & 168 proteins but this is pretty close so that's why I'm sharing.

I've been keeping active just keep forgetting to tell everyone what I'm eating & exercising to. Yesterday I felt like getting funky so I pulled out my Grind Hip Hop video. OMG ... I just love when Eric takes off his shirt. he he he

Grind Workout: Hip Hop AerobicsHe's so frickin HOT, makes my heart rate race. This is a 40 min dance video ... a good 10 minutes is spent on warming up & cooling down. The dance steps are fairly easy to learn after a couple times running through them. I found mine at the local thrift store but I did a search on www.Amazon.com & it's there to for pretty cheap.

Today I'm thinking about getting on my treadmil for 45-60 minutes ... maybe even a little Yoga Booty Ballet or pilates. I haven't been doing my pilates & I can really tell. I'm not as limber as I was.

Update

I'mma gonna be lazy again & just copy & paste from Ass Chapin'

First things first ... I love my new doctor!!! =D It really helped my spirits when in walked this petite lady who looked fit, confident, all smiles ... she was wearing red scrubs, white lab coat. She had long brown curly 80's hair. Right away I felt comfortable with her. She told me her name, apologized for being late (she wasn't in my book). I'm used to sitting in the exam room for so long that I get bored and start reading all the posters. I didn't even get to finish one poster. Anyway, she had a sheet of paper with my info ... my vitals were all normal & from what the nurse said in the very healthy range. My weight was 200.3 but I know for a fact from my scale at home that my jeans weigh 2 pounds ... I also had my shoes on which could be another pound or so. Okay so she asks me what I'm feeling at that moment & I told her "to be honest I feel amazing right now but I'm here because my family & friends wanted to drag me in here ... kicking & screaming if necessary ... to see why I was having a hard beating heart for the past few days. I told her about my 2 workouts this morning & how I felt fine before, during & after, explained how I felt in the past few days. I of course told her how I left the ER cause they didn't seem worried about it. She frowned over that one. I wanted to get it off my chest so I asked if my thyroid could be checked & she showed me on her paper where she had written it down. She said just reading through the symptoms made that come to mind. =) Finally, someone who actually pays attention to what I'm saying. It's not like I go to the docs for every little sniffle. he he he I'm stubborn as a Missouri mule & seem to think my body will work out the kinks all on it's own. I hate take medicine ... even aspirin is a chore. She listened to my heart which I knew would be fine ... wasn't beating hard or fast IMO ... she confirmed this. She felt my tummy ... I gave her a scare when I jumped at the touch of my lower abdomin. I told her it had given me problems since the day after my second c-section. For the first time since giving birth I found out that this is normal. I had mentioned this to my last 3 doctors & although they seemed unconcerned about it they never told me it was normal. She told me sometimes the nerves become very sensitive in that area & as long as it isn't painful there was no reason for concern. (it's not painful, just sensitive).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Sad news ... for me anyway ... I have to give up my caffine for a little while. She doesn't know if it's causing problems but she wants to eliminate it to see if it makes a difference. No morning coffee, unless it's decaf (can't go that way), no chocolate (no problem for me), and no night time tea unless it's decaf ... she's gonna visit me in jail if she keeps me off of it for to long. I'll kill my family, he he he! I won't ... but I know I'll probably be in a pisser for the next couple of days as I come off my caffine high.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I had to have my blood drawn which was no problem at all. As long as the PA knows what their doing I feel nothing. Today was no different ... I watch them draw the blood. 2 viles gone! I hope they will be able to find something out. My doc said if it's normal I won't hear anything but if it's abnormal she will call immediatly to have me come in for further diagnoses. Not that I want the test to come back abnormal but I would like to know that this isn't all in my head. It really bothers me that I can feel my heart beating hard but all my vitals are fine. Plus ... I'd like to know why I can't lose weight ... it's very frustrating. Ok, that's all for me ... gotta go fill some tags. Have a great day.

Laws of Success

I got this from a girl in one of my weight loss groups. Thanks Tammy.

1st Law:  THE LAW OF OWNERSHIP  If it's going to be, it's up to me!  Understand that if you are going to achieve results, it is going to be up to you.  No matter who educates or motivates you, it must be you who is willing to make and stick to the changes.

2nd Law:  THE LAW OF EFFORT  Success only comes before work in the dictionary.  Anything worth achieving is worth working for.  It will take dicipline, will power, character, persistence and a commitment to delayed gratification.

3rd Law:  THE LAW OF CONSISTENCY  Be relentless in your pursuit of success.  Consistency is the key to achieving any goal.  There are no short term quick fix solutions for improving your health and fitness.

4th Law:  THE LAW OF SELF-EFFICACY  Visualize extraordinary success.  You must believe you can do it.  Think of self esteem as a bank.  Each time you keep a promise to yourself, the store of self esteem gets bigger, making it easier to keep the next promise to yourself.
