Lets get Personal

Maxine on droopy boobies
The Bounce Stops Here ... yes I'm talking about our boobs. It's so darned annoying to exercise & have the girls bouncing out of control. So I'm gonna share some info on the best new sports bras that are out there no matter our size or shape.

About 60% of women experience breast pain during exercise. But don't give up--the right sports bra can eliminate much of the suffering. When researchers studied women ranging from size A to F, they found that encapsulation bras, which have separate molded cups, reduced pain the most by stopping motion in all directions--not just up and down--for better support and more comfort. Now on to the info I found from ladies who walk, jog, and kick box in the latest models. Here, their favorites, plus I've got links for each cup size.

Best for A-B

The Moving Comfort Alexis cuts bounce without flattening like a pancake. "It gave me shape and support," this tester raved. ($34; movingcomfort.com for store locator)

Best for B-C

The under wire in the Adidas Simia lets it double as a daytime bra--yet its wicking fabric keeps you dry if you take a brisk walk at lunch. "It was so comfy, I fell asleep in it," this tester admitted. ($40; shopadidas.com)

Best for C-D

The Champion Powersleek controls bounce in two ways: with molded cups and compression fabric. This tester loved the front-adjustable straps. "I didn't have to contort my body to get it on." ($40; championusa.com)

Best for D and Larger

The Enell 100 Sports Bra's double-layer fabric, extra back support, and wide straps provide maximum motion control without making you feel like you're wearing a corset. "Despite the firm hold, it didn't pinch or bind," this tester said. ($60; enell.com for store locator)

Some pretty interesting bras for all sizes ... ok do you know why the number 100 is important when it comes to bras? 100: The number of times you should wear a sports bra before tossing it. Didn't know that? Well girl ... now you do! Hope this info gave you some insight on how to keep chest pain to a minimum while exercising.

  1. 100, that's funny. So that means approximately every 3-4 months- Like I could afford that. Never had to worry like my friends have. I could write the story of the teeny tiny tatas! Dannelle
